The Grange Simulated Game Shoot is on the outskirts of Derby on the rolling hills of the Ecclesbourne Valley set within the bounderies of the Chatsworth Estate, Shottle and Cowers lane villages forming some 400 acres to give a mixed bag to shoot partridge ,pheasant, flighting duck from hides and grouse from butts.

Full use of the rolling hills of  the Eclesbourne valley  and areas interesting features have given shotgun coaches and game shooters Steven Pountain  and Bill Findley a challenge to simulate the real live game shooting which they hope you will enjoy.

We have set out 11 drives simulating live game shooting you will be asked to choose 8 for your day and you can  visit a drive twice if you wish.

A typical day for is eight guns with breakfast rolls tea / coffee on arrival.

A safety briefing, selecting pegs numbers,  then loading up into the gun bus for the day with all your equipment and cartridges. We strongly advise 21 gms fibre cartridges  and please bring plenty  with you!  250 to 500 are needed on a normal day per gun. You can purchase cartridges on the day.  All ppe is issued prior to shooting commencing.

The first two drives are at Devilles and Badger Setts which simulate partridge drives hedge hugging at good speed giving your team a feel for the day followed by the Willows which when in full leaf will give the best shot some challenging birds.

A light refreshment will then lead you onto flighting duck from hides at  Hall View but shooting in pairs loading for you fellow gun.

Drive four is Calladine Lane and afterwards is a lunch of soup, freshly made bread with cake / cheese and this is eaten out in the field.

The Piggery gives your team the experience of snap shooting between trees, New Buildings for high pheasant and to complete your day you can have a go at the Grouse Butts where again you load for your fellow gun at birds flying at near the real thing as possible.

Then we return to base to freshen up in time for a two course roast dinner.

We encourage novices and non certificate holders as we have been granted section 11/6 from Derbyshire police authority for non certificate holders to shoot at artificial targets.

Loaders / minders along with gun hire and qualified shot gun coaches are available to add to your days enjoyment. We will be pleased to advise charges for the above.

Insurance , risk assessment and health & safety policy are available on the day for inspection.
