All my items are handmade and therefore unique you will never see another item the same as yours.
I originally started making a carved gunslip for a friend over 15 years ago it had a shooting scene and wildlife on and made various dog leads, handbags etc for presents and my own use. From there I have gained in experience working with the leather and also the carving and have gone on to make numerous commissions from gunslips both carved and plain to bags and certificate wallets.
In 2007 I made a rifle set of bolt holder, bullet box and sling for a friend and they have become one of the best sellers done plain with just a simple motif. But my first love is the carving and with each commission I try and push myself that bit more to incorporate a new skill or technique, I bought an extensive range of books by Al Stohlman who is one of the finest leather carvers in the u.s.a and I have barely used a quarter of the techniques in the books. Many of the small items share the same motifs but none of them will be hand carved the same and the slips have a unique design, I can carve the leather with your own initials or pictures, including game birds, game scenes and gun dogs for a totally unique item.
All my small items are hand stitched from 3mm 100% vegetable tanned English leather which is the same that I use for the slips and cartridge stuff. It is carefully selected for its quality and for the ease which it retains shape and details. I use a flat spirit dye which is not complete flat coverage; the dye is put on in a way that it shows the carving and will eventually fade to give it an antique look. The top dressing is called ko-cho-line which gives it flexibility and some waterproofing. All of my gun slips are lined with a fleece which will dry quickly and allow the leather to breathe. It is all water resistant to a certain point however if allowed to stay wet will eventually rot.
I can do items in Dark Brown, mahogany and black, and I as I dye each item myself can supply the small items in a range of different colour. Unfortunately at present I can only do the slips in black or dark brown and possibly mahogany with a rolled edge in black or brown, if you want it in a totally different colour there will be an additional charge to cover the purchase of the leather.
Shot Gun Range
This is my range of gun slips for both shotgun and rifle
My initialed and carved slips can either be a top flap side opening which has a zip down one edge to allow the inside to dry after a wet day and a securing strap to stop it coming open, or a full zip which has a zip all the way round. I offer two types of handle, a pair which are on the zip side or a single which is on the spine and can put a ring and strap to hold an umbrella or shooting stick . All of our slip benefit from a 1 inch wide internal spine to give stiffness and rigidity to the slip.
Price includes carved initials and single shoulder strap custom fit for your gun; we can also add handles, umbrella strap and a rucksack style strap. Currently available in black, dark brown or brown. We do many different accessories for country pursuits; everything we do is made from the same high quality leather as our slips. We offer plain items with just a motif in our quality range or customized with your initials and own motif in our bespoke range.
Strength and security wrapped in a fleece Lining.
All my shotgun slips come with a soft fleece lining to protect barrels, the rifle slips can be lined with fleece or if your rifle has a sight at the end of the barrel I can line it with suede over foam padding to prevent snagging.

Cartridge Bags
Here are the cartridge bags and Cases we make The straps on my bags are securely attached as the strap runs around the bag so there is no possibility of a buckle detaching itself from the bag, the leather edges are polished smooth to help repel water and the top is hinged for easy access.
We have three sizes of Cartridge bag, 75, 100 and 150.

The Cartridge Case "Day Case"
The cartridge case is ideal for a loader on the larger shoots, the case will hold 200 12 gage cartridges in boxes and the wide top of the strap ensures that the weight is carried comfortably on your shoulder. The top handle is riveted to hold it in place and then the fastening straps that run round the entire case are firmly sewn over that. I can offer two sizes, 200 and 250 but can custom make one to fit any size you wish.

A new addition to my range is a single 25 cartridge box, this is made so a full cardboard outer of a 25 size box with the top flaps of cardboard removed drops in for ease of use, once it is empty remover the inner cardboard and replace with another. can be in 12 or 20 bore

Choke Pouch
To complete the set I have also added choke pouches, there are made from the same leather as the slips on the outside and thinner leather inside. It can be made for 3, 4 or 5 chokes with a key and the unique back means the pouch can be carried either on the belt or on the top of one of my slip straps.

Rifle Slips
This is my range of Rifle slips.

The solid bottom "Block End" helps to protect the guns from drops and knocks and strengthens the bottom for durability, at the end of the slip a piece of leather is sewn over the top, then 2 shaped pieces of 3mm leather are glued and sewn together to make a solid block then this is sewn into the end of the gunslip. The spine has an inch wide strip sewn the full length of the slip and the d rings for the strap are secured by this.

Game Carriers
My game carriers have a wide shoulder strap and can carry 16 rabbits or 8 hares, we also do one that will carry a roe deer up to 40kg. The shoulder strap can be done any colour but the straps are always done dark to prevent staining.

Certificate wallets
We do Either Double for both shotgun and firearm certificates or Single certificate wallets, they hold a folded certificate. They are big enough to keep transfer sheets and any other paperwork to keep it all together and can be carved with initials motif or scene both front and back

We do either a priest and holder or just the holder. The priest we supply are either made from brass, antler or wood all are weighted with lead to ensure a humane dispatch of your quarry.
